Mission
Carbon Project Integrity
The Guardian Ecosystem enables ALLCOT to create a standardized project development framework that fosters trust, transparency and compatibility across all project stakeholders. This ensures the creation of high-integrity projects while maximizing benefits for local communities.
The Guardian Ecosystem facilitates the fulfillment of methodology standards, validation body requirements, project developer needs, and community expectations, thereby enhancing the overall efficiency and transparency of the project
ALLCOT stakeholders benefit from access to accurate and comprehensive information on Hedera Guardian’s public ledger, leveraging a common set of rules and standards, fostering trust and accountability.
Transparently demonstrating how project resources are allocated on the public ledger enables ALLCOT’s stakeholders to comprehend the full scope of a project's efforts, flow of funds, and impact.
By recording the transaction cost at every stage of a project's progress, resulting carbon credits can be priced to maximize revenue distribution back to the local community.
By utilizing Hedera Guardian’s digital ledger, ALLCOT is able to minimize accounting errors, make auditing more open and efficient, and enable a more equitable emergence of verification and validation partners.
The Hedera Guardian Ecosystem establishes a secure chain of data custody, particularly in the case of drone-captured information for origination purposes. This enables ALLCOT to ensure that all project data remains intact, trustworthy and accurately tethered to each project attribute.
By ensuring that data provided aligns with the necessary frameworks, the Guardian helps meet specific industry needs and standards, while ensuring compliance with multiple reporting requirements.
ALLCOT is focused on creating products that surpass the limitations of conventional methods, shifting towards more advanced and efficient approaches to future sustainability markets.
The Guardian serves as a single source of truth, ensuring that policies and rules are standardized and compatible with other sustainability market actors. This enables ALLCOT to align financing through carbon forwards and the structuring of green bonds seamlessly across various entities within the ecosystem
The adoption of a common taxonomy within Guardian enables ALLCOT to establish a standardized language for discussing and addressing various sustainability issues. This fosters better communication and alignment for more effective and cohesive climate action.
By leveraging the flexibility and adaptability of Guardian, ALLCOT has the ability to provide various pathways for different stakeholders as the sustainability market evolves.
The Hedera Guardian Ecosystem operates as a common good, providing services to the entire ecosystem without an extractive fee-based model.
ALLCOT leverages the Hedera Guardian Ecosystem to build on and integrate various services and initiatives already established by other community members. This creates an aligned, streamlined ecosystem of sustainability market actors that avoids duplication to serve the needs of communities, investors, and project developers.
Straatos: Building Digital Trust for High-Integrity Carbon Projects
Challenge
The carbon markets face a fundamental trust gap. Project developers and auditors rely on fragmented, manual processes to collect, validate, and submit data — increasing the risk of errors, inefficiencies, and opacity.
Communities and investors, in turn, lack transparency into project impacts, timelines, and benefit distribution. At the same time, methodologies like VM0033 (Tidal Wetland and Seagrass Restoration) require robust monitoring, reporting, and verification systems that most local project developers struggle to implement due to cost and complexity.
Straatos set out to address this challenge by building a unified, digital infrastructure for data integrity, traceability, and efficiency across the carbon project lifecycle.
Solution
Developed on Hedera Hashgraph, Straatos provides a secure and verifiable operating system for high-integrity carbon projects. Through integrations with KoboToolbox for field data and Verra’s Project Hub for validation and registration, the platform enables real-time synchronization from the field to the registry.
Key features include:
- Digital MRV workflows that align with Verra methodologies (starting with VM0033)
- Automated Project Design Document (PDD) generation and submission
- Blockchain-anchored data integrity through Hedera Guardian
- Cui Bono Framework for benefit-sharing transparency at the community level
- Modular integrations with GIS, remote sensing, and external verifiers
Straatos bridges the gap between traditional carbon development and a new standard of on-chain accountability.
Implementation
The first live integration of Straatos took place in Senegal, with the ABC Blue Carbon Mangrove Project, developed by ALLCOT and verified under Verra’s VM0033 methodology. Using KoboToolbox for community and ecological data collection, and Hedera Guardian for data management, the project successfully became the first mangrove restoration project to automate its PDD submission through the Verra–Hedera digital infrastructure.
This pilot demonstrated how a single digital workflow can:
- Reduce documentation and validation timelines
- Enhance transparency for both Verra and auditors
- Ensure traceability of field-level impact data
- Strengthen local engagement through open data sharing
Impact
By digitizing key steps of the carbon certification process, Straatos has shown the potential to:
- Increase efficiency and reduce costs for project developers
- Accelerate validation and verification timelines
- Improve confidence among investors, auditors, and communities
- Support equitable climate finance through transparent benefit-sharing
Straatos aims to set a new benchmark for scalable, trustworthy digital MRV.
Future Outlook
The next phase of Straatos focuses on expanding interoperability — connecting registries, verifiers, and multiple stakeholders under a common digital infrastructure for climate solutions.
With partners like Verra and Hedera, the platform continues to evolve as the backbone for next-generation environmental data integrity — ensuring every ton of carbon is real, traceable, and fair.
About Straatos
Straatos is a digital infrastructure platform designed to streamline carbon project development, verification, and impact transparency. Built in partnership with the Hedera Guardian and integrated with leading climate data tools, Straatos empowers developers, communities, and investors to scale credible, equitable climate action from the ground to the ledger.
