MEANINGFUL ACTION IN UAE 

During the 2023 United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP28) in Dubai, blockchain and crypto projects showcased their commitment to climate action. Key initiatives included Envision Blockchain and the HBAR Foundation's collaboration with the United Nations to streamline carbon markets using blockchain technology.

TECHNOLOGY AND CLIMATE AS ONE

This effort led to the development of the Managed Guardian Service platform on Hedera Hashgraph, aimed at digitizing carbon market processes. In parallel, the Technology Innovation Institute revealed a blockchain-based platform for verifiable carbon trading, enhancing transparency and efficiency in green investments.

Another significant contribution came from the partnership between Allcot IO, the Carbon Opportunities Fund, and Tolam Earth, focusing on digital carbon credits using Hedera's distributed ledger network. 

HACKATHON FOR SUSTAINABILITY

Amidst these developments, DLT Earth announced a hackathon event in collaboration with the DLT Science Foundation (DSF), starting January 8. This event aims to develop digital climate methodologies and enhance transparency in climate market assessments, aligning closely with DSF's vision of using distributed ledger technology for societal betterment.
