DLT Science Foundation (DSF) and The HBAR Foundation Sustainable Impact Fund have come together to form DLT Earth, a global grant program for researchers to investigate and improve reporting and methodologies used to track and mitigate climate change. As part of this endeavour they are launching the the DLT Climate Hackathon, participants will use the Hedera Guardian to drive forward climate accountability through full methodology digitisation and improvement.
Partnership and mission enhancement
Over the next several months, DLT Earth will work with its partners, such as Allcot, Envision Blockchain, Tolam, Evercity, and others on a series of initiatives to enhance the quality and trustworthiness of sustainable finance, climate projects methodologies and verification, sustainability markets, and ESG reporting initiatives. This hackathon with a $100k prize pot for digitised and open-sourced methodologies is integral to this mission.
The details
The hackathon will run from the 17th of January with an initial 3 months of programming and activities. The Hackathon itself will continue to be “open” until the submission deadline. Subject to submission performance there are up to 31 prizes. There will be weekly workshops with specialist guests, regular technical office hours, and ongoing support via a dedicated Discord channel.
